Jury Michiko OKAMOTO Japan

Graduated from the Toho Gakuen School of Music and studied under Mme Kazuko Ariga and Prof. Motonari Iguchi.
After she won the 2nd prize in the 32nd Music Competition of Japan, she studied at Texas Christian University (U.S.A.) with full scholarship, under Mme Lili Kraus and became a prize winner at 3rd Van Cliburn Competition.
While she actively performed nationwide, she took a teaching position at the Toho Gakuen School of Music.
She also won the best accompaniment award at the 6th Tchaikovsky Competition, and continued her international career in USA, Russia, Europe and Taiwan, performing as a soloist, chamber music player, and as well as the soloist in national and international orchestras.
She has been served as a jury in the Music Competition of Japan, Carl Czerny International Piano Competition (Prague), International Scriabin Competition (Moscow), Atlanta International Piano Competition, International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition for Young Pianists (Los Angeles), and Geneva International Music Competition.
She has numerous recordings and has edited and published music scores.
Currently she is honorary chairman of Japan Piano Teachers Association, a board member of the Frederic Chopin Society of Japan, and a specially-appointed professor at the Toho Gakuen School of Music.
